Ellen Gabler reports in the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel that the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) has launched a series of music videos about its web site, annualcreditreport.com, which allows people to receive a free copy of their credit report once each year. The FTC said in a news release that the videos were intended to show the differences between AnnualCreditReport.com and other sites that claim to provide free credit reports. For example, despite its name, FreeCreditReport.com users must pay a fee if they do not cancel their membership within seven days of signing up.
